Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017 manuals – recently labeled as an eco-car qualifying car in Japan. The Mid-size SUV’s gasoline engine, got four stars in the emission rating there, which is the key needed for the eco car program.
“This achievement again confirms the flagship status of the Grand Cherokee among other SUVS in the global market,” says Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Global Lead Executive for International Operations-FCA.
The key to the success of Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017 as Eco car lies in its mechanical system. The Pentastar V6 engine has been re-demonstrated and increased power to 295 PS. The engine is also supported by a two-step variable valve lift (VVL) that improves fuel efficiency.
The system is designed to stay in low lift mode so that drivers need more power. Then the system responds and changes to high lifting mode, which sends more air into the cylinder. As a result, fewer fuel pump workloads.
The system is also powered by cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) which helps reduce emissions and trim the results of the pumping.
In addition, the smooth Engine Stop-Start (ESS) and 8-speed TorqueFlite auto-transmission features also contribute to fuel economy. In Japan, the new Grand Cherokee claimed fuel consumption only reached 9.6 km per liter.
