The Toyota Corolla first came to Indonesia in 1970. At that time the Corolla that entered Indonesia was already entered in the second generation Toyota Corolla. Corolla was assembled in December 1971 with a 4-door model. The car is equipped with a 3K 1,200 cc engine with a manual 4-speed transmission system. At the time Toyota called it the Corolla KE20 model.
In 1975, Toyota introduced the third-generation Corolla. Still a 4-door sedan, the engine is 3K with a capacity of 1,200 cc. Toyota Corolla underwent a major change in 1980 or the fourth generation. Toyota calls it the Toyota Corolla DX and coded KE70, which carries a 1,300 cc 4K engine.
After the death of the Corolla DX, Toyota brought the Corolla GL to life with a front wheel or 5th generation. The Corolla GL uses a 2A engine capacity of 1,300 cc mated manual 5-speed transmission. In 1985 Toyota refreshed the Corolla GL, given the latest engine 2E 1,300 cc 12 valve.
