The Mate 40 Pro Plus is the top model of the Mate 40 series. The phone is equipped with a 6.76-inch (2,772 x 1,344 pixel, 18.5:9) Horizon Display OLED display. On the top side is a punch hole that contains a selfie camera with a resolution of 13 MP (f/2.4) and a ToF 3D camera.

The five rear cameras consist of a wide 50 MP (f/1.9) camera, 23mm, OIS, PDAF) Laser AF, 20 MP ultra wide camera (f/2.4, 14mm), 12 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, OIS) 3x optical zoom, and 8 MP telephoto periscope camera (f/4.4, 240mm PDAF, OIS) 10x optical zoom, and 3D ToF camera.
